The Board of Caherconlish Caherline Community Council: Breaking News: the Millennium Centre will open its doors to the public after a 6-month closure from fire damage. The work, patience, and determination of so many people have resulted in a phased return. We welcome back the sewing group, the Wednesday Club, Social Dancing and After schools next week and we invite anyone looking to check bookings to phone Declan on 0852885181. The return to full operations will follow as quickly as is possible.


BREAKING NEWS: Our Bric a Brac fundraiser originally scheduled to take place on Sunday October 10th last is now back on track and will be held on Sunday April 10th (coincidentally exactly 6 months later) starting at 2.30pm. We are still collecting items such as furniture, pottery, China, pictures, lamps, toys, plants, shrubs etc. Sponsorship of spot prizes are also welcome. Admission on the day will be €2.00 and a raffle will also be held. Contact Declan on 0852885181 or Nancy on 0864088485 for information on collections and deliveries etc.


The Wednesday Club will be in the Millennium Centre on Wednesday at 2pm. We look forward to seeing you all. New members are always welcome.

Work Placement Employment Programme Kitchen assistant – 30 hours per week – Paid position

Eligibility To be eligible for this role you must have received one of the following for 6 months within the last 12 months: Jobseeker’s allowance, Jobseeker’s Benefit, Jobseeker’s transitional payment, one-parent family payment, Disability allowance or Jobseeker’s benefit for the self-employed.

Job Description The successful candidate will be inducted into the catering assistant role and will gain practical experience and training in the following:  Prepping vegetables and salads and assisting the chefs.  Use of all kitchen equipment.  Daily cleaning of the kitchen and utensils.  Assisting in the preparation of desserts during service also in making sandwiches, wraps.  Preparing side orders and knowing the number of portions required.  Operating our HACCP system which includes temperature control and dating stickers.  Use of all equipment in the kitchen area.  Knowledge of stock and equipment.  Knife skills. The participant will be trained and mentored daily. CAHERLINE GAA CLUB LOTTO No jackpot winner - numbers drawn were 3, 10, 11 & 14. Lucky dip winners were Thomas Hickey, Paudi O'Keeffe, Daniel Murnane (Online), Bridget Fenton & Micheál Murnane (Online). DINNER DANCE: Caherline Gaa are delighted to announce a victory dinner dance to celebrate our 2021 County Junior A success! The event will take place on Friday April 29th from 7:30pm in the Castletroy Park Hotel. Our 2021 Junior A winning panel will have their medals presented on the night. Tickets cost €50. Please contact our Club Chairman or Secretary with your details. CLUB LIMERICK DRAW: The Club Limerick Draw is live for 2022. For only €10 a month, be in with a chance of winning a top prize of €10,000. At least €50 of every membership goes directly to OUR CLUB, so we would welcome your support throughout 2022. This is a great opportunity for everyone to give their support to club and county. The first draw for 2022 takes place on March 26th. Launch of the Diocese of Cashel and Emly "SEEDS of HOPE" will take place in Boher community hall on Monday 21st March at 7.30pm. Parishioners of all the surrounding areas are welcome to attend. This gathering pre-empts that shortly there will be many priest less parishes – what do we do about it?

UKRAINE: The bishops ask that a special collection be taken up at all Masses on Saturday 26/Sunday 27 March. This special collection will take place after communion. Please do your best.

Trócaire Lenten Campaign - Please take home a Trócaire Envelope. It includes your Box & Information Leaflet. This year, Catholics in Ireland are asked to support missionaries and Catholic relief agencies at work among the people of Zimbabwe in southern Africa, in crying need.

ST VINCENT de PAUL: SVP has launched a national campaign seeking volunteers. During 2021 a total of 191,000 calls for help were made to the SVP throughout the country. This is 12% up on the number of calls in 2020 and the highest on record for the Society. The national campaign for volunteers focuses on over 900 Visiting Conferences (Branches) throughout the country. Volunteers are being sought to help in shops and social housing as well. The local St Ailbes Conference of SVP thanks most sincerely all who contributed to the Annual Christmas Appeal and Church Gate Collection. Over €5,000 was collected. €2,500 was donated at the church gate collection and the balance was from individual and group donations. Food hampers and fuel to the value of €4000 was distributed locally at Christmas 2021. The SVP thank you for your ongoing support.
